The streets of Amsterdam are roamed by strange creatures, that seemingly came to life out of Henri Rousseau's most famous works: riding girls wielding a sword, football players dressed in an old-fashioned way, a lion and his little friend, a snake-charmer… They're absurd and murdering figures, that are hunting for four old brothers, the Debayssens. What brought them to life? And why all their fury? Dix and charming deputy inspector Vivi Hollert will have to find out…
