Upon returning from a nearby market, Lynch comes home, to his Madeleine, delighted to bring back a puppet figure for little Timothy. But he finds an unknown woman, Jennifer, waiting for him at the door, and all the inhabitants of Darkwood swear she’s been his wife the whole time, and there’s no trace of his son!
