Hans Schneider, a boy who fights for the rights of the mutated, at first takes refuge in the first level after a robbery attempt. Nathan Never is hired by Hans’ parents to bring him back home but the boy has, in the meantime, taken shelter in Father Homer’s church. The Alfa agent however, having descended to the bottom of the city, finds himself tackling Commandant Edwards’ mercenaries who are chasing Hans to get the reward which the politician Franz Hoenzoller has offered for the boy’s return…

Nathan Never is hired to investigate the death of John Hartman, a cadet in the Space Infantry. Under the false name of the lieutenant Noah Bright, Nathan enters the Armstrong Academy where he’s in charge of a group of cadets. During a manouevre, Captain Connery risks killing one of the cadets in Nathan Never’s group by mistake. In this way the Alfa agent finds out that the cadets trained by Connery have been given policloric euridal,a powerful drug capable of changing genes, so that they will become invincible and will therefore oppose the space infantry trained on the space stations. When she notices that Nathan has discovered her plan, Susan Connery has him captured and gives him an ultimatum…
