Kostantin, a young man whos a friend of Gherrits, appears to have an almost paradoxical peculiarity: he only paints in the dark, and in doing so he creates extraordinarily expressive paintings. Jan Dix is really impressed by the young mans works, that bring him to muse upon the relationship between the birth of life and the basic reasons for art But what has this story in common with a seclusive Russian base where Jan and Annika will mysteriously find themselves held captive?
