Only a chief of great leadership such as cruel Kaimakan – a Huron sakem who’s able to rally large ranks of warriors – could gather a Native army, like the one that’s surrounding Fort Crow for a dramatic siege. Hundreds of Indians are ready for the last assault, aimed to seize the weapons the soldiers are guarding behind their palisade. A military convoy bringing reinforcement and ammunitions to the fort is late and missing. Any hour could be the last one for the besieged, and also for Zagor and Cico among them. The Spirit-with-the-Hatchet is ready to try a desperate move— he will venture alone outside the outpost to try and reach help, avoiding the hunt unleashed by Kaimakan and his “red furies”.
