After Claypool has been isolated by the flames Don Lopez’s blackguards lighted in the nearby forest, the four pards give tit for tat to the criminals in their own hideout: Rita, the inn-keeper at the Helltown saloon, brandishes weapons and forces Don Lopez to give up. Some time afterwards, a mysterious villain from Flagstaff lays a lethal trap for Tex. With the help of the soothsayer Myra Solano, the ranger is set up in Gallup on a false charge for the murder of his old friend and sentenced to twenty years prison!
