A new mission awaits the Agenzia Alfa Operative Unit: Nathan, May, Branko and Nicole are sent to a remote military outpost, known as Arctic Base, on an island of the Sea of New Siberia, close to the Arctic Polar Circle. The reason they've been dispatched out there is that for several days now all communications between the installation and the rest of the world have been cut off, and the last report that was received spoke of an accident affecting the main generator, resulting in fatalities and injuries. But Nathan Is mystified: why should the Agenzia Alfa be entrusted with this mission and not - as one would more logically expect - the army? And above all, there's a pharmaceutical research laboratory on the base, managed by reticent Jonas Halicox - what does this individual have to hide?
