Another wave of awful crimes has struck East City: a mysterious serial killer has committed a whole load of homicides, leaving a small jade trinket shaped like a cicada on each of his victims’ bodies. The task of conducting the investigations is assigned to Nathan Never, who realizes from the very start that it’s not going to be easy to unravel this particular case - not even with the help of the psychic Katjia Claussen, a woman endowed with extraordinary ESP powers that allow her to re-live at first hand the last tragic instants of the existence of these victims.
