In the middle of the great Illinois plains, there’s “Grand Central School”, deserted for decades. During the 1950s, it was a State college for teenagers that, following the time’s criteria, were considered as subnormal and “feeble of mind”, but that mostly were orphans and misfits. The school was closed after a scandal, to be covered up lately. Now, a “prodigal son” (possibly an alumnus of the school) has apparently gone back to his “alma mater” to place a lighting rod on the roof. There is, in fact, a strange character who hops from one isolated farm of the area to the other, selling lighting rods carved in the shapes of disquieting figures that, according to their seller, can protect from Evil. But Harlan, Anyel the Amesha and clairvoyant Ann Jurging are in Illinois too, after sensing that an infernal invasion is preparing. Meanwhile, the weather is worsening – a tornado’s coming – and someone or something is roaming the dark and dusty alleys of “Grand Central”, looking for vengeance...
