What if, before generating Harlan, Master Draka had already tried to give life to somebody? Not the crepuscular existence of the undead, something more… From the anatomical dissection theaters in Edinburgh to the lake of Geneva, from London’s fog to the sun of Naples, the first half of this epic two-part story plunges its fangs into the very beginning of the romantic myth of the vampire: the unrivaled Lord Byron, the exalted John Polidori, the brave Mary Shelley face Draka himself and the tragic figure of Sir Francis Varney, the rebel vampire, among stormy nights, ominous dreams, ruined crypts and sects of hooded men… And without forgetting our heroes, Harlan & Kurjak, who, in contemporary Naples, are trying to unravel this complicated enigma with the help of two old Neapolitan sorcerers, looking for an uncatchable “monacello” (or a “young monk” spirit) in the alleys and the dilapidated palaces of “Spaccanapoli”…
