A Pima shaman accompanies Tex, Carson and the young indian Juanito into remote Canyon Jemez where, according to an ancient map of the Anasazi people, an almost inaccessible pueblo might conceal the secret of the god Kokopelli, the magic custodian of huge treasures. But the sacred pueblo dispenses death to whoever pentrates into it with impure intentions: what fate will befall our heroes? Will they encounter the monstrous spirits of the custodians who keep watch over the impenetrable settlement, as feared by the old shaman? Or will they find themselves confronted with the bandidos headed by the brutal Mexican Gavilàn, who, having sided with the corrupt sheriff of Rio Lobo, is likely to do his best to entrap them in the canyon from which there’s no way of escape?
