Intrigue in Washington! Tex and Carson, on the trail of the conspirators who are plotting the death of the presidential candidate Hayes, escape from the ship that was supposed to plummet to the depths with them locked up in the hold. The first to pay for their crimes are Sam Winter and the bunch of cronies of the Irish Gymnasium, and then it’s the turn of the guide who is holed up in Ely Parker’s office. The ringleader of the conspiracy – a senator – gets a proper thrashing and the killer who’d been given the task of bumping Hayes off falls from a high-rise building, heavily laden with a ballast of lead. Some time later, Tex and Tiger Jack deliver a wanted man to Virginia City...
