By using their influence and triggering off inquiries and reports in the newspapers, Tex and Carson manage to get the farcical trial that terminated with the death sentence for Apache Kid and his men declared null and void. But not even the second sentence is light: the Indians, sentenced to seven years of hard labor in the penitentiary, stage a successful getaway while they are being taken to prison, after which they become ruthless assassins and cattle raiders to get their own back. The takings from Apache Kid’s robberies are fenced by the Bulder brothers: the pards, having reached the Comancheros ranch, set everything alight.
