A community of Quakers want to emigrate from Utah to California without joining the other convoys, but a gang of good for nothings have claimed for themselves the right to organize all the caravans leaving Cedar City! The band, led by the wealthy businessman Goldfield, supplies and escorts the carts with the sole objective of then pilfering them, and wipes out anyone who gets in the way of his movements. But the four pards, after having come to the aid of Judy Kanab, daughter of the poor man who would have led the faithful to the coveted promised land if he hadn’t been slaughtered by Goldfield’s gang, offer themselves as the new guides.
