The menacing shadow of the witch Zhenda looms over the Highlands! The spiteful hag aims to install her son Sagua as chief of the Navajos in place of Tex, and to achieve her goal she has no qualms.

On the trail of the witch, Tex and Tiger Jack will have to repel the incursions of the Navajos loyal to her until Kit Willer and Big Elk also arrive to lend them a hand. Meanwhile, the rebels of Big Bear, allied with Zhenda, attack a ranch, provoking the reaction of the army, held back by Kit Carson to avoid a bloody war against the entire Navajo people.
