Rome. A priest is cruelly murdered in obscure circumstances and the subsequent investigation is led in a very cautious way: he held a prestigious place in the Vatican Library and could be the repository of some important secret. The investigation gets stuck and the only one that maybe could be able to solve the puzzle is a very mysterious man, who arrived to the police station suffering from amnesia. He remembers some thing, though: that he knew the victim, for instance. He's maybe the last person who saw the dead priest alive. It's a shame he doesn't remember anything about himself, not even that his name is... Martin Mystère!
