Gold fever spreads among the trappers of Darkwood: in fact, a rich vein of gold has just been discovered in Goose Creek and all of the trappers (including Doc and Chapman) have decided to profit by it. Since even Chico has decided to emulate them, Zagor follows him to Goose Creek, where he meets three old acquaintances: the Sullivan acrobats, who have a new collaborator, Durga, the Egyptian, and they have found a profitable gold seam.
