The Sertão is a desert region in the North-East of Brazil, where immense farms are in the hands of a handful of important men. In order to defeat the arrogance of one of these, Colonel Fonseca, the young Raimondo Teixeira has decided to reconstitute the “Cangaceiros”, in other words the outlaws who, in the thirties, were blackmailing the landowners; not by chance, Raimondo calls himself Capitão Corico, like one of the past Cangaceiros.
