Fort Stanton - an isolated outpost designed to keep watch over a wild and unexplored frontier territory. A place marked by a conspicuous array of disappearances. First, a few Jesuit missionaries, then the garrison at the fort, and finally the search party sent to go and look for them… What is going on, what mystery lies hidden in the desolate vastness of that region? And above all, what connection is there between the mysterious events that occur there and the necromantic activities of Colonel Carmody, the man who’d been entrusted with the fastness of Fort Stanton? It’s hardly likely to be easy for Zagor to unravel all the threads of this puzzle…
