Tex, Carson, Kit and Tiger are sent south of the Mexican border, to bring a band of Coyoteros Apache back to their Reservation in Arizona, before they’re slaughtered by the scalp hunters. U.S. Army Captain Masters tells the pards their mission is unofficial and must be kept secret — their only help will be the Mexican Rurales of a small town, Tecopah. Young lieutenant Baines joins Tex and his friends for this mission. In the Mexican mountains, they’ll face a first, bloody fight against the scalp hunters, and Tex will follow some of them to Tecopah.
