He’s willing to go to any lengths, is the cruel and callous Charbonne, for the sake of getting rid of Jim Colter, and in fact he has no qualms in arranging the abduction of Colter’s Shoshone wife Shawea, the daughter of Alce Zoppo. But this is only the first step of his plan. The bastardly merchant engages in battles with no regard for any rules and with flagrant contempt for honor, to the point of ordering the Blackfoot Indians, his allies, to carry out a veritable mass slaughter, which they do by unleashing their fury against the Shoshone encampment, killing and plundering mercilessly.
