Tex is condemned to death! The conspirators push Montales to ally himself with Pedro “Cobra” Galindez, a sought-after revolutionary, to free Willer. And when Carson, Kit and Tiger Jack arrive in Chihuahua, the rogues put Tex up against a wall to provoke him and make sure that the pardon obtained by Montales saves him in the nick of time. Informed by Father Elìas, one of Galindez’ men, that the conversations in the parlor are spied on, the pards make Olivera believe that the escape will take place during Tex’s transfer to the Escalante penitentiary, planning instead to free him directly from the governor’s place!
