Tex stops the vile Coda Macchiata while he is about to kill the sachem, Nuvola Bianca. Confronted with the rebel Sioux paid by him to kidnap the President’s grandson, the infamous scout, Zanoby, blurts out everything, even the name of the instigator, a wicked speculator who intended to drive out the hated Indians from their lands in order to seize the gold of the Hills of the Wind. Some time later, charged with freeing the engineer Lacroix, sequestered in the Gulf of Mexico to extort the secrets of his new submarine from him, the rangers defeat Macedo’s desperados hired by the kidnappers.
