A while later, a group of shady speculators from Washington in cahoots with a corrupt Canadian minister, determined to sabotage the plan for a new transcontinental railroad, stir up the Blackfoot Indians against the Stanford topographical expedition, led by Gros-Jean. Jim Brandon informs the pards that their mutual friend is in trouble, but the scoundrels intercept the message!
