The nameless murderer has dragged Blackton’s body away along a secret underground passage that connects the inn to the outside. And while everyone suspects the fiery Jess Wallace, the unexpected face of the real murderer emerges from the shadows. The following summer, in Oklahoma: the Cheyennes are dying like flies, banished to an inhospitable and unhealthy reservation. A few rebels led by Mocassino Rosso kill an Indian agent and kidnap a journalist. Tex and Carson, having scented the danger of an Indian war, lead the sachem, Lupo Grigio, to Fort Nelson to parley with the soldiers.
