On the coral atoll of Anuta, where Tex, his pards and Captain Bart’s crew have been ship-wrecked, live Baron Von Kramer, his partner and accomplice in the form of a woman called Veda, and the sordid Karl, who forces the natives of King Mapua to fish for pearls in the waters swarming with sharks. Our heroes – who are initially welcomed with arrows by the warlike Canachis - make an alliance with the natives to usurp the bloodthirsty tyrants of the island.
