Having destroyed Diamond Jim’s hideout with the help of Lefty Potrero’s musclemen and wild Dames of the Santa Lega, the pards hunt down the trafficker who had Kit kidnapped, pursuing him along a slimy underground passage that leads to Chinatown. The Chinese accomplices of Diamond Jim are soon eliminated, and the villainous kidnapper is made to spill the beans: Kit is at sea with Captain Drake! This marks the beginning of a long voyage in the Pacific, on board Billy Bart’s Sea Tiger: first stop Kalaupapa, where Black beard’s scruffy crew is in a bad way after a fight in a bar in the port.
