Coming to his senses thanks to Tex, after having almost turned his father out of house and home by stealing his cattle to pay his gambling debts, Randy Cardigan repents of the errors he has committed. As for Hogan and Owens, the heads of the gang of raiders, ridiculed by Willer during a tense poker game, they are stripped of every asset and kicked out. Months later, the pards investigate a highly unusual band of Mescaleros Apaches: after every bloody robbery they dress up as harmless Mexican shepards and their chief, Lucero, takes on the identity of Don Fabio Esqueda, a respectable and educated businessman.
