Left empty-handed, Kento’s raging Cheyennes attack the trading-post run by Harport, an accomplice of Goldfield and his fence for the Indian loot. The pards’ intervention saves the besieged from a brutal end: the survivors of the band of caravan plunderers end up in the cooler and the Quakers reach California unscathed. Some time later, Tex and Carson are sent to the Gila River: the breeder Louis Cardigan is a victim of cattle raiders and his son Randy, supervisor of the ranch, has been seen ganging up with Chris Hogan, a corrupt gambler from Sheldon.
