Gilas Kid: this is the false name chosen by Tex to dig into the murky past of Mohawk, the town plagued by cattle thieves. The cutthroats of Major Farriman, who also has the sheriff of the place on his payroll, try in vain to lay traps for the pards: they all find themselves either in hell or with their hands crushed. And what better medicine than a crackling fire to drive out the rats? Nothing but a pile of burning embers remains of the Dixie, an ill-famed saloon owned by Farriman.
