The White Bison haunted him with omens of death: now the mad rancher, Langley, really has the enormous creature, sacred beast of the Cheyennes, before him and, like in his nightmares, his gun won’t shoot! The following spring, in Gallup, Carson robs a bank and stabs the manager to death. Then he flees before the eyes of a terrified Kit Willer and, when he falls off his horse, he is caught and thrown in the cooler without much ado! Has the old camel perhaps gone mad? The only clue for solving the mystery is a note signed with an enigmatic Greek “p”.
