On the Lava Flow, an expanse of solidified magma, there stands a macabre temple, the shrine which is the scene of rites performed by a demoniacal sect which kidnaps and sacrifices young Zuni women! Tex and Carson, who are looking into several mysterious disappearances, stop off at Quemado. Here, where they are met with a chilling atmosphere of mistrust and a conspiracy of silence, they set eyes on the stock raiser Sam Prescott, the indisputed boss of the settlement, and Padre Crandall, a somber and enigmatic priest of the church of the Sons of the Apocalypse. The Satanists, determined to eliminate all evidence of their misdeeds, set fire to the building on the Lava Flow, which conceals a hideous graveyard, jam-packed with decapitated corpses.
