The satanic Yama, passing himself off as the incarnation of Kukulcán and holed up in a teocalli in the jungle of the Yucatàn, summons up arcane forces to drive off some desperados who are bent on snatching the diamonds to pay for their weapons and supplies; in the meantime, the pards reach Mexico and persuade Montales to get them a clever guide to flush the witchdoctor out of the green hell where he has gone to ground together with his Maya descendent Manuela Romero and his trusty henchman Matías. But Mefisto, from the infernal abyss, warns his son of the danger! Yama transforms himself into a bodiless spirit and draws Tiger Jack into a trap.
