In the small mountain community of Maggwann, the finding of a stone coffin containing the corpse of a giant, dressed in XVIII-century fashion, is the start for a series of cruel murders. Asked to investigate, Dylan Dog soon finds (the hard way) he's facing an immortal and vicious enemy – the same who's been killing people in this area during the past centuries. Apparently, the only way to defeat him seems to be hidden in an old dagger found inside the tomb. It will be a race against the clock for the Nightmare Investigator, because the monster has already targeted his next victims: Justine Lumley, the hamlet's physician, and Hugh Beacham, the stationmaster.
