In the African state of Zirma, Steven Birko, a local political leader, is killed by the militia under the eyes of two dumbfounded reporters; but they were able to record the wild assault with a photo camera… It’s the beginning of a hard chase to prevent that the diffusion of the images and the inevitably subsequent scandal could compromise the fragile political balance in the country, endangering President Burbank’s government, a puppet in the corporations’ hands who control the resources of Zirma, and most of all the water. Branko and Nathan are sent there by the Security Council as observers, to ensure the investigation is pursued the right way…
