The standoff between Earth and the orbiting stations is just a step away from degenerating into a bloody conflict. In fact, that step has now actually been taken with the destruction of a couple of craft belonging to a group of nomadic space miners, the Ramingos, by a fleet of war space ships from the orbiting station Melpomene. However, this act of warfare has been committed in the presence of two witnesses, Sabrina Dorset and Billy Socket, two agronomists whose safety is now dependent on the Agenzia Alfa. So the agency’s best agent is sent to their aid: Nathan Never!
