Dogpatch is a typical small provincial city, just like all the rest of them in the deep South… Well, no, actually when you come to think of it, it isn’t really like them, because there have been strange goings-on in Dogpatch: for some time now, among the immigrants quite a lot of people have been disappearing, especially children. Why? Who is behind such a nasty crime? Legs and May probe beneath the veil of appearances in search of an answer, and their quest leads them to make the acquaintance of the most esteemed inhabitants of the small community: Sheriff Glenda, accompanied by faithful Waters, the Deputy Sheriff – who also happens to be her resigned and compliant consort – and by Coltrane, their dog; Legs and May also get to know the Parker sisters, with their Aunt Dorothy, and then there’s Jack Zarkof too, the wealthiest man in Dogpatch…
