During a fancy dress party where the defunct Professor Aldridge’s spirit is expected to manifest itself, Martin meets the beautiful Stella, while Diana makes acquaintance with the mysterious Surya. Both find themselves attracted and disturbed by these meetings, which cause embarrassment and tension between Diana and Martin. The morning after, Diana disappears mysteriously and Martin throws himself into the quest to find her.
