An old notebook creates an unusual alliance between Martin and his ex adversary Cassandra Gold Chester. This old notebook is one of the diaries of Joe Gould, a tramp who lived in the thirties and who, by chance, discovered the hiding place of a precious treasure: a mysterious object that Peter Stuyvesant stole, in the seventeenth century, from an Indian tribe, and then hid somewhere in the Big Apple!
