Rasputin, the “Mad Monk” adviser to the family of the Tsars, is the adversary whom Martin Mystère must confront in the final chapter of this adventure. It is set in Nice, but originates in Russia at the beginning of the century, in the twilight years of Romanov power. The reason for this dispute is the Stone of Life, a jewel with supernatural powers that Rasputin wants at all costs!
