In the waters of the Pacific, a dramatic clash puts an end to the struggle of Zagor against Ross McGunn (aka the Yankee Devil), the chief of the Isthmian Guard. Captain Mission reveals to Zagor the place where the Lima Gold is hidden, a treasure the Captain stole many years before and that McGunn was looking for. What happened to that precious load? Zagor, while pursuing his hunt for Dexter Green, boards a ship to Peru and gets to the harbor of Callao. Here, he immediately clashes with a murderers' gang. Meanwhile, a mysterious adventurer called Barranco, is looking for a mummy hidden in the Andes that has a "quipu", a necklace made of strings with knots concealing valuable information...
