Sancta Magdalena is a pleasant town in which Maria, Chico’s Junoesque sister, lives with her husband and eleven extremely boisterous children. They live in peace with Cuchillo Blanco’s nearby Apache camp. But the alcalde wants to take advantage of this situation, by having the peace-loving Apaches massacred in order to grow rich from the sale of their scalps!
