The great Aral sea, once a huge inland sea rich in fish and with luxuriant vegetation growing all around its shores, has been reduced to a stagnant swamp by the reckless hand of man. It is now strewn with the rusting hulks of ships stranded in the dirt and the remains of wharfs, quays and docks. But death makes its presence felt not only through the effects of this ecological catastrophe that Arno and Rena, members of the “Medical Team”, are trying to fight against with every means at their disposal. For there is a lethal menace on the loose in the desert: Erlik Khan, and not even Harlan, Tesla and Kurjak are able to undertake any action against him; it’s a threat that goes hand in hand with the horror that dwells on the island abandoned in the middle of the Aral Sea...
