Having solved the mystery of the map, Tex and “Calavera” find the fabulous gold of Klaatu. Nick still tries to get rid of Willer, but the Native American guard’s arrow strikes again, giving the affair an unforeseeable end. A while later, in Tucson, the journalist, Herbert Addison, who is following the Hadley gang, is kidnapped by the rival Chase gang to demand a ransom from his father, Governor Edward. The pards take on the case on behalf of Mac Parland, but the arrogant Pinkerton agent, Patrick O’Bannon, sent to help them out, prefers to investigate on his own for career reasons.
