Having lost their supply of weapons and left without horses as a result of the pards’ raids, the rebel Utes and Hualpais – now entrapped – are routed by the Cavalry: Cane Giallo, who wanted to exterminated the Navajos and scalp Aquila della Notte, is defeated in a duel, has all his hair shaven off and is then abandoned in the middle of the desert. Quite a long time later, arriving incognito in Elk city in southern Oklahoma, Tex discovers that the whiskey flogged by the traffickers – in league with the cattle thieves – has brutalized the Indians living in the area, fostering an atmosphere of tension.
