Once the mission is completed, the rangers receive two shining medals which they immediately give to Negrito as a present, thus crowning a dream cherished by the young Apache! Some time later, in Arizona, the pards are instrumental in the getaway of a poor devil who is being hunted down by a mob of volunteers bent on getting him on the gibbet. This wretch is the miner Rick Sander, who was attacked and then framed with a false murder charge by a bunch of rogues in the city headed by the banker Mart Holmer and his gunman Sam Spring: what the gang are aiming at is to chase all the gold hunters out of Redrock – dead or alive – to seize hold of their mining concessions.
