Trouble afoot for the swindler mister Jackson! The pards and Pat Mac Ryan start to unravel the sordid network of cut-throats the greedy fur merchant has put together to damage Hogan and the other fair-play competitors: Pete Linton, a shady dealer on Jackson’s payroll, receives a harsh lesson and then dies at the hand of his Indian wife, whom he was about to jilt; the hired killer Webby gets beaten up and chased away, and the trading post at Ross Claywood is torched. But the Rocky Mountains Co. is still not at the end of its tether: its fierce Indian allies, the Snakes, kidnap Tex and tiger Jack!
