The Great King, also called Black Leopard, is Louis Laplace, a rich black man blinded by mad ambitions of glory: having a mortal hatred of white men, he wants to establish a free Indian nation in the north. His advisor is the slimy Pierre Gaul, a money hungry swindler who has contacts with Harry Madisons arms traffickers, ready to supply the mounting Native American rebellion with guns. Tex recovers the peace totem taken from the Mohicans to convince them to go on the warpath and, using diplomacy and an iron fist he forces the rioters into a bloodless surrender.
