Jimmy Evans, a ranger who has been obliged to take early retirement from the service after a bad leg injury left him a cripple for ever, finds out that his son Steve seems to be going off the tracks and has fallen in with a gang of gallows-birds headed by Ray Sheldon. But the worst is yet to come: there’s been a brutal armed robbery at Glendale near the Mexican border and it’s the Sheldon band that did it.
