On the Kaibab Plateau in Arizona, an Indian archer transfixes Paul Scofield, an outlaw who wanders through the snow with his dog. The pards recover the animal and are attacked by the band of extorters that rages in Mike Creek, led by Nick “Calavera” Guerrero. Scofield had taken an old Indian map from the gang that marks the position of a legendary gold deposit and Guerrero is convinced that Tex and Carson know something about it. The gang is eliminated right away, but Nick doesn’t give up and allies himself with El Tigre’s desperados in order to hunt down the rangers.
